"Waiting on God. It seems right before dinner is the time you get the hungriest,
and you feel you just can’t wait. It’s tempting to eat a cheap snack and then
have your appetite spoiled for the great meal awaiting. That’s how it can be in
life too. We are hungry for things—a job, a spouse, healing—and it feels like we
just can’t wait, not even for God. You see, if you have a promise from God for
something, it can be tempting at times to make it happen yourself.

A lady named Sarah in the Bible did this—and greatly regretted it.
God had told her husband that they would have a son, even though she was
old and infertile. But she just couldn’t wait any longer, and so she told her
personal maid to sleep with her husband so she could adopt the child as her own.
But this wasn’t God’s plan and it caused great heartache for all involved.
The Bible says over and over, “Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and
courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD” (Psalm 27:14)."
"“Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for Him;
do not fret when men succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.” Psalm 37:7"

He is forever our mighty rock.' Isiah 26:4
God Bless You,"

"You may have heard the phrase,

“A diamond in the rough.” Usually, it is talking about that bad guy or girl

who has lots of potential but so many rough edges.
Some people have an eye for diamonds-in-the-rough; others dismiss them. But most people

don’t know exactly what to do with them to make their true potential
come out. They see good in there, but how do you chip away all of the hardened,

rough rock surrounding it?

God knows exactly how to make diamonds come forth. It is His specialty,

in fact. If you look at all of the people in the Bible He chose to work with for His plan,
you’ll see soon that they are a bunch of diamonds-in-the-rough. Moses, for one,

was chosen to be a speaker when he was a criminal ex-patriot with a speech
problem. David was chosen to be King, though he was the least valued in his family

and just a little shepherd. Mary was chosen to carry the King of Kings,
Jesus, though she was poor and unmarried.

Nobody thought much of these people. And maybe you feel that nobody thinks

much of you. But God does. He is drawn to diamonds-in-the-rough—those who feel
they don’t have a lot going on, who don’t have a lot of pretenses. The Bible says that God is

drawn to those who are lowly. “Though the LORD is on high, he looks
upon the lowly, but the proud he knows from afar” (Psalm 138:6). Maybe you feel that you

have too many issues for God. Maybe you have a rough past, or current
addictions you can’t overcome. It’s not too hard for God. Take a minute and realize how much God

loves you and know that He sees the diamond amidst your rough.
Walk through your day today knowing that God has a great plan for you and knows just

how to bring out your brilliance.

So, this week, let us pray and ask God to
Help us walk in the newness of"
"'Peace I leave with you;

My peace I give you.

I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled

and do not be afraid.' John 14:27"

"Wed. June 8, 2011:

'Jesus said to him, 'Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me,
Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father'?
Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say
to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works.
Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of
the works themselves. '

Please pray for the people of Kenya. Kenya is one of the largest countries in Africa,
with 38 million people. The capital city is Nairobi. There are many Christians in Kenya.
Please pray that the Christians will be bold to tell others about Jesus Christ and that God
will protect and bless them.

God can help you laugh again. Laughter feels good, doesn’t it? Recent health studies have
shown that just 1 minute of laughter boosts your immune system for 24 hours. But
1 hour of anger can depress your immune system for the next 6 hours. Wow. Sure makes
you want to laugh more, right? But sometimes life and its worries steal our laughter.
Remember how easy it was as a kid to laugh about anything? But now as adults, it’s so much
harder to be carefree and laugh, with all of our worries and concerns. Who will pay the bills?
What about finding my future spouse? How can I fix my kids’ problems? The list goes on.
But God laughs at His enemies—and that means we can too. Psalm 2:4 describes God’s attitude
toward His enemies: “The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.” Can you
imagine God laughing? A wonderful image. Sometimes we picture God in heaven worried or mad
about the current circumstances. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Yes, God gets mad
at injustice, but He is certainly not worried about the future—because He sees the end from the
beginning. He knows He will set up His glorious kingdom and all His enemies will perish.
Revelation 7:17 says, “For the Lamb on the throne will be their Shepherd. He will lead them to
springs of life-giving water. And God will wipe every tear from their eyes.'"
